Here's Your 8th Lesson In Building A Hyper Responsive List

Hey Tavacha,

Thanks for joining us on our 8th lesson in the series...and
this one is a DOOSY.

This particular lesson involves getting past a fallacy and a
trap that so many marketers seem to fall into...

There is a syndrome in our industry which I'll refer to as
the "How big is YOUR list?" syndrome.

This is a losing approach and I will tell you emphatically
that I would much rather have a list of 500 buyers, than a
list of 10,000 browsers.

When marketers first start building lists they are often
enamoured at the stories of 50,000 subscribers on this
person's list and 80,000 on that person's list..

Those numbers may or may not be accurate...the only person
who does know is the list owner...

But that number doesn't really tell the tale.

And you shouldn't let these tales influence how you build
and maintain your own list.

I'll say it again...I would personally much rather have a
list of 500 buyers than I would a list of 10,000 browsers...

Or worse yet...freebie seekers that are annoyed when you send
them any kind of ad and expect you to provide them fre'e
content forever.

You will develop the buying relationship by the way you manage
your content to ads and by not trying to grow an enormous list
based on fre'e giveaways.

I've heard far too many stories about marketers that have built
up lists of several hundred subscribers and thrown them away,
or deleted them because they only had several hundred...

Please don't do that to yourself. Groom and maintain your list
with balance and consistent mailings (not a lot of mailings...just
with consistency) and you'll find yourself enjoying significant
long term profits!
